The town is on the road from Salò to Riva del Garda (going north). The exit for this spot from the main road is in the middle of a tunnel, so it is very easy to miss. The closest middlesize towns are: Brescia and Verona. The beach is very rocky. Parking is scarce.
Campione has a club consisting of approximately 450 members. The subscription is mandatory to launch/re-enter from the beach. 35-45 Euros for the yearly subscriptions. There is no day subscription or weekend subscription. The clubs has: 1 full time lifeguard (April-October), a rescue craft and on the weekends a second lifeguard is available on the beach specifically for the kite area (June-July-August).
The club also hosted a stop on the national kitesurf PKRA tour in 2007 and in the fall hosts a social downwind race for members only.
The local kiteboarding shop wwww.tendersurf.com also organises courses for beginners and boat lifts to the parts of the lake with more wind since the launch corridor is quite intimidating for beginners.
The club has 2 weather stations one on the north side of the beach and the other on the south side with a webcam.
